Designing Sounds Of Tomorrow

The creation of new sounds, in particular in the context of electric mobility, is a unique challenge because it questions not only our preexistent sonic vocabulary, but also our readiness to embrace the change and expand our perspectives. Sounds are powerful entities because they affect human behaviors and are capable to shape the emotional condition of people. Every day, whether consciously or subconsciously, sounds enhance our experience by informing, guiding, moving and protecting us. Understanding the way we perceive and react to sounds as well as integrating notions from other disciplines, such as science and art, are some of the keys for creating effective sounds.

How can we create sounds for tomorrow? How far should we embrace our past? What will be the impact on the urban soundscape? This talk will present a few ideas about possible ways to conceive new sounds for tomorrow.
